Sinossi: Sei uomini imprigionati in una stanza. Ad intervalli di tempo compaiono sulla pelle dei numeri tatuati, portando i personaggi ad avanzare diverse ipotesi sulla loro prigionia in un crescente clima di tensione aumentato dal bizzarro comportamente del protagonista, sospeso tra narrazione e metanarrazione.
Primo tentativo di “cortometraggio impegnato”. Ha richiesto qualche mese per l’ideazione, la sceneggiatura e sopratutto la ricerca e l’allestimento della location (e degli attori) e circa 12 ore continue di riprese. Gli attori, tutti non professionisti sono stati davvero soddisfacenti riuscendo ad estrarre da un copione-guida momenti di improvvisazione davvero appaganti (e mi riferisco in particolare alla scena della morte di Pietro Bontempi). E’ anche il primo cortometraggio a vedere l’impiego frequente di effetti speciali, trucco e affini, alzando (spero) il livello; buona parte degli effetti sono stati ispirati da Andrew Kramer col suo sito di video tutorial VideCopilot. Più che raccontare una storia, volevo sperimentare con la figura del protagonista, tenendolo sospeso tra il personaggio e il narratore, cercando di creare un effetto di alienazione (essendo omointradiegetico); in questo modo la regia è sia narrativa che metanarrativa. Cercherò in seguito di sviluppare meglio questa ambiguità per creare ancora più alienazione rispetto al fruitore, introducendo magari anche il regista nella narrazione…ma si vedrà.

Synopsis: Six men traped in a room. In regular time interval some tatooed numbers appear on their skin. They move for some hypothesis about their captivity in a developing mood of strain enhanced by the weird behaviour of the protagonist, hanged between narration and meta-narration.
First attempt of studied short movie. It had implied some months for the conception, the script and the research of the location (and the actors) and about 12 hours of shooting. The cast ( everyone was non-pro) has been very satisfying by taking out from a guiding-script improvisation moments really pleasing (for example i was very impressed by the death-scene performed by Pietro Bontempi).
It was also the first short movie where i used many special effect, make up, etc, boosting (i hope) the quality of the shooting; several visual effects has been inspired by Andrew Kramer and by his video tutorial placed on his website: VideoCopilot.
I was not too much interested in writing a good story, i was more interested in testing with the structure of main character, keeping him hanging between narrator and character, trying to create a sort of alienation (because the mai character is omointradiegetic); so the direction is fiction and meta-fiction toghether. I will look for develop deeper this ambiguity to create much more alienation to the spectators, introducing maybe the director too in the fiction…we’ll see how it turns out in the end.
